Welcome

IMG_5553If you have recently moved to the area and have no idea what the event is about, the idea was conceived some 18 years ago to boost the fund raising effort to build a new Village Hall. The event was so successful that even though we had raised enough money after just 2 -3 years of the Bike Ride, the village wanted us to continue with it and over the years we have raised in the region of £300,000 which has gone to a variety of charities and causes, including keeping the fabric of the Village Hall intact!

Over the course of the weekend the whole village seems to turn out, many people camp on the playing field for the weekend, we have bands playing live music on the Saturday evening and you can smell the BBQ’s for miles! This year some 400 riders will take part over the 24 hours with teams entered from the local schools, youth groups, mums and dads who convince themselIMG_5464ves they are still fit enough to do it and cycling enthusiasts. It really is fun for all the family. It coincides with National Bike Ride so what better excuse do you need to leave the car keys behind and do something healthy and beneficial for the environment at the same time.
